Please Help Me. Please, before I go insane.

I have an Optorite DVD RW DD0203. It plays DVD's on my computer just fine.

I have not been able to copy a dvd movie (for backup purposes only of course) since I purchased it.

I have the following set up:

    Intel P4 2.4 Ghz
    512 Mb Ram
The Optorite is set up as Master and my Liteon CD-Rom LTN526D is set up as slave.
    Windows XP

I have tried everything I can think of to get this dvd writer to copy dvd's.

I have tried Nero Ultra Edition, B's Recorder Gold5, Burn Free, DVD XCOpy, DVD shrink, DVD Clone, you name it, I have tried it. I tried again to use Nero and it has been almost 3 hours since I started the copy process. And it will end and say to me that burn was unsuccssful. I am going crazy. I have all other programs off including virus scan. I have tried -r, +r, +rw, -rw. No media has worked. I have used AnyDVD program (version 3.9.2.1) to remove the copy protection. I find that I am usually able to copy the dvd with no problem, but I have not been able to write it once it has been copied. Can ANYONE please help me. Thank you.

    Hi,

I'm a little confused as to the exact problem you're experiencing.

If I understand correctly the ripping process (original disc to hard drive) goes fine but when you try to burn the resulting files to a blank it takes either a long time or doesn't burn at all?

You are correct. I think I made a mistake purchasing the optorite. As I said, I remove the copy protection using a program called anyDVD, it seems to work fine.

But as you said, I rip ok but unable to burn. Any thoughts?
