Hi guys A pal has an original starview bx , and last week it went of line and will not upload data now.( goin to 130% -0%) In guessing as its an original bx , its not able to be updated on software like the 2`s and 3`s.. Is there a fix for it, or is it time to upgrade?? Cheers r

CryptStar-v14-GenuineOnly.zip (in the starview/firmware folder) GTRom_v400.rar (in the starview/software folder) Extract the above files and continue below ... UPLOADING SOFTWARE TUTORIAL 1. Plug Starview in at the mains; 2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for this on the Starview you cant go wrong); 3. Open up GTRom loader. 4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the Auto update BIN File file that you have downloaded 5. Now click download button and you will see the file being downloaded. 6. Once complete a message will appear saying something like "download successful". 7. Plug box in and press Menu on remote, select Installation, choose your cable provider, then move down to automatic scan and press OK. 8. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen. 9. Now press menu. Press INFO then type in the number 1570. A new menu will appear. Move down to Key Emu and change option to ON. Press OK, then exit back to TV Screen. 10. Go to scrambled channel (Sky Sports is recommended) and wait on keys updati
Cheers Just thought id check! is this file for v4.00?? Reason bein is , the bx is already running on v4.00.. Its been working fine on this version till it went of last week. Ive tried to factory reset and scan channels / put on emu key/ But after completion it just keeps updating to 130% then starting again at 0% up to 130% All the other bxs i have are either ( the bx) or the bs super3) None of these were affected.
Its the new version of the software - autorolling codes. The writer was rushed and didn't change the version number so it's still saying version 4.00, thats all
