    Hey, Here is my problem.

I was softmodding my xbox and got halfway through when my xbox lost power. i restarted the xbox and now it only boots up to the xbox splash and then goes onto error 06.

Can i format the xbox hard drive on my computer and put another dash on it like EVO X or something like that

    or

Can i format it and put linux on it and run it like a computer?

    Thanks in advace

You can't format the Xbox, because you don't have the EEPROM. Unless, you backed up to your PC when you were softmodding.

Can you boot games? If you can, load up the exploit, and try to softmod again. If that doesn't work, then you can try loading a Slayers disk, and then fixing it that way. No slayers disk? Use an AID disk, you get it for free at www.aidtracker.com

Hmm, all I can really think of is to get an eeprom reader, and then get the eeprom off the motherboard, and rebuild the hard drive.

Xbox's are quite picky, some disks load better then others, but you can use DVD+R, or DVD-R. Actually, almost all DVD disks will work. I have noticed a lot of CD disks work as well.

Just wondering, did you try to load the stock games? IE the original ones, and not backups?

    EDIT:
    Here is this tutorial:

If you can find a friend who has an Xbox, ask if you can use his to fix yours.
