Does it not make sense? Now that Digital only signals are just about here with the BEST possible reception. How soon before Satellite Dish Television is obsolete? Why spent millions to launch a satellite when over the air from an on the ground antenna works just as well.I remember hearing that the whole reason that cable t.v was invented was pretty much for better reception.I personally canceled my satellite subscription last year,I was sick of paying all that money for very few good channels.
Back in 1984, I was under the impression that if I was paying for extra channels I wouldn't have to watch advertising - what a simp. The first thirty days was also the last thirty days that I had cable.
Well advertising is always gonna be there. But These channels have to pay to be on these stupid Time/Warner,Charter and Directv,Dish people. Why pay them now that they don't need Satellite signals to come into your home.Am i way off base here?
OTA digital TV signals are affected by solid objects (for example where my home is the trees keep the ABC station from reaching my antenna). Locations where there is little in the way will get all of the local TV stations, and each station may have more than one channel, so depending on the area you could get 8 or more channels (another example, the 6 stations that I can receive have 11 total channels). This has been available for more than two years in most urban areas. The main problem with OTA is there is no ESPN, Discovery, etc. If you mainly watch the networks then OTA is a good deal. Rabbit ears work very good in a lot of areas.
