I am trying to convert and write mpeg files to DVD to watch on my dvd player, every time I do this the whole thing is out of sync, is there any way to avoid this.

The mpeg files are in good quality and not out of sync at the beginning, it's just the resulting vob files.

    Hope you can help

i have also had alot of similar problems with certain files, it is almost always down to errors in the original file (some of which are not noticible when watching the original file),

I went through a period where almost all the movies i attempted had sthe same problem so naturally i thought it was down to problems with my software ar burner. i think this was just coincedence as all is fine now( accept for the odd stubborn file i come across ).

the only answer to corecting these files (that i have heard of) is using a tool to cut out the audio and video of the problem frame or frames, sorry but i have never tried doing this so i cant recomend any.

other than that try removing your dvd software and reintalling it. if the software was fine once upon a time it would rule out any software problems.

good luck and if you find a better answer to the problem please let me in on it

The problem you are having is usually caused by dropped frames during the capture process. Did you capture this file yourself and if so How, it could be your capture device or software. Have a look in the forums Video capturing from analog sources, it has lots of help about this problem.
