i have an avi file i want to burn onto dvd using nero 6 ultra eddition, i played the avi file on my pc and all is well but when i play it in nero before burning there's a 2 second delay with sound and video. Is there something i'm doing wrong or something i can do to re align the sound and picture in nero?.
Er....i don't convert the avi file, i just 'make dvd video' add the avi file i want burnt to dvd and just burn it. To veiw the file before burning there's a facility in nero with a mock remote control on the side of a screen, i just play the avi file in there.
The avi file must be converted to dvd compliant files before you can burn them. By your statement,a mock remote control, you must be using nerovision express(NVE). When you add those files it is converting them so you can burn them. You can also create a menu and chapters with this program. Is this the program you are using? What do you mean"I just make dvd video"?
yes, nero vision express, that's what i'm using to burn to disc. there's a list of things you can do before burning, in the list is an entry to add file so i just add the avi file to my list and then click next until the button changes to 'burn' then i click on burn and then wait till it's finished. I didn't know avi files had to be converted to be able to play on my dvd player.
MrRod, sorry for the delay. I'm not sure what's causing the delay between the audio and the video. This is just before you're ready to burn, have you tried a burn to see what happens? You could use a RW so you wouldn't make a coaster. Also, what are you playing the AVI files with when you view it and it's working properly. You could also burn to your HD as an image then to your disc and see if that clears up the problem. That is actually a better way to do it. Sometimes(not often, but some)NVE can get a little screwy. The fault could be in your files or it could be in NVE. Where did these files come from? Did you try to create a menu or chapters with your files after conversion?
