Ok first off, did a search and didn't find but one message on this subject. Next of all I will explain what I did and hopefully someone might be able to me know if this is possible or not. I have a movie in .AVI format that I want to watch on a TV set. I have a video card that supports TV Out with a S-Video output. I hook up the S-Video from the Video card to the TV and get my desktop just fine. Here is where I am lost. I play the .avi movie using PowerDVD and it starts playing. On my computer screen I have the movie playing just fine but on the TV all I see is a box with a completely black box. I hit the Z key with PowerDVD and it goes to full screen on the computer, but on the TV it is still a perfectly black screen. I have tried all kinds of .avi's via DivX and XVid, but with no luck. I know there is a reason for this but I am not sure why. Does anyone know of a program that will allow me to play a .avi on my computer and watch it on the TV? Thanks for your help...
have you made sure that tv is enabled and that the monitor is either set to run alongside or to switch off when tv is use?
hi freeop...i had exactly the same problem....change screen resolution down to 800x 600...hope this helps...took me ages to work it out..should have read help files first )))..good luck
