hi guys, i just got an ipod and have seen in many threads lots and lots of different programs to convert videos for the ipod with pros and cons, can u please tell me which is the overall best conversion software that will give me crisp video synced and not crashing? dont matter if it isn't free =) also i have some files with srt subtitles, will those work on an ipod ? or the conversion program can paste them in the vid ?? thanx in advance for the help guys =)
Well For Dvds its definately Handbrake no doubt about it Pros: always accecpted by itunes fast and great quality Cons: only Dvds and can be a bit confusing for new users For movies like .avi and other formats its hands down Ultra iPod video converter (it can be found in Download.com) Pros: Free Picture perfect quality and always accecpted by itunes Cons: u can only ocnvert 1 file at a time because its a trial version But ya id strongly suggest ultra because its free and it works 100 times better then some of the popular converters that u pay for. Most trial versions put a watermark or only a 5min conversion but ultra lets u convert the whole file with perfect quality (its made for ipods so it knows the quality needed to be accecpted by itunes). The only thing u get by paying for the whole software for ultra converter is that u get to convert more then 1 file at a time (when ur ocnverting large movies u wouldn't wana convert more then 1 at a time anyways). So my openion definately untra its very underrated
me personally i like the dvdfab platinum. i know it costs but it is well worth it. you can download a trial version in which you can do everything you can do with the real thing. i broke down and bought it. you can do your movies with it, and any type of mp3 player.
