I recently burnt a few dvd's on 4x when my media was only rated for 2.4x. The movies turned out okay, they seem to work just fine. However, do I have anything to worry about long term or if there was a problem it would have shown already??
Theres two ways you can look at it. 1) You'll be fine, they only rated it 2.4x to cover their arses and it wouldve shown alerady if there was a problem. 2) Your burning films to fast and eventually it'll show in some tiem soon. Personally, i think its definately one. Everytiem your burn a film to disc, it wipes the whole disc and starts again, so if there were any errors on the disc then its getting wiped anyway.
over burning is ok....... Taiyo Yuden, 8x, DVD+Rs can be burnt all the way up to 16x! It's the quailty of the disk! The dye alloy is what allows the overburn! not the as one would think. hahahaha Most members would tell you that burning at half the rate the disk is known will be fine. There are exceptions to the rule ..... only personal experience will tell! Live and learn.
