You can OC the XP2800 up to +XP3200 .... oh wait .... eeeeeeeeerm... not so sure you can push it that far .... XP3000 for sure (i hope) but that Via chipset is a biatch for OCing (i used to have that motherboard) .... not a lot of control you can throw around with it compared to the nF2 but it should be doable. Just make sure you have some decent cooling. Visit http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/81431 for some ideas on cooling

What's the brand on the memory or is it stock RAM?

Not quite sure to be honest i will have to look in to that one.As for coolers the one i have in is pretty good one as my mate has a much more powerful pc than mine and he has a true athlon 3200 running at 400mhz mob.He relaced the cooler he got with the chip to one the same as mine.I have that many fans in my system if i opened it up i could keep me beers in to keep it chilled.

If hes got a stock cooler than it was the same stock cooler as yours -- and not up to the task of OCing.

Your chip can most likely (very easily) OC to XP3200@400 .... i'm just not so sure of your mobo supporting it.

I have read up on my mob and i believe your right and it supports 333mhz max.I will stick as it is for now and maybe look at the 64bit processor and mob to support it when the price crash on them.

    Cheers John179

The A7V8X-X is based off Via's KT400 chipset -- meaning it supports a DDR400 FSB. You should be able to OC it up but I dunno exactly how far you can push it (from my memory, i dont recall the A7V8X-X giving me a lot of control with the individual settings)

Thanks for that i will have a look to see what it can do.If think though as this is not one of my main strengths on a pc it will just be a look until i have time to have a serious look and maybe get myself educated on this area.
