overclocking

    This may be a very stupid question...but, what is overclocking?

    Overclocking is were a consumer increases the speed of the processor, graphic card, etc.

    This increases the hardwares performance, but can cause serious damage to the unit due to overheating. This also voids your warranty. Overclocking is not encouraged for Novices.

    what's a good AMD processor speed for video-editing, photo-editing, office applications, and surfing the net? I don't plan to oc.

    I depends on your budget, but if money is not an object than I would go with the process with the highest clockspeed.

    hello kinza i think you should go for the athlon 64 bit cpu 3400+ or above socket 740 or 939 depending on your budget!!
