Would I need a new heat sink and if so what would you recommend? Is it difficult to do? I seems like I would be foolish not to make my processor faster.
Making a post in the official overclocking thread (Other PC Hardware) would be a good idea for the best advice. A new heatsink is essential for overclocking an i7, my typical recommendation is a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme (1366RT).
Newegg have never sold any Thermalright products, not sure why. You can buy the cooler from performance-pcs.com.
Thermalright coolers come with their own thermal paste but for best results you would be better off buying some high-grade stuff like OCZ Freeze, Arctic Cooling MX-2, or Arctic Silver V.
