New mother board a clean all the old paste of cpu witha tissue and scraped it off and on cpu heatsink and put some artic silver on but when a turn it on its now idleing at 58-62 and thts in bios as soon as i turn on have i done something wrong its not over clocked used to be 28-35 at idle before
Can any one help please if i play a game it locks up and shutsdown then when i reboot the cpu his like 70 c and i have to wait for it to go back to 60 and thats idle whats going on
check that the heatsink is properly seated on cpu as might be partly seating on heatsink fan bracket.
Its seated corectley it was fine till a removed it and changed it to my new board how much paste do you use and do you have to clean all the old stuff off perfectley
not much a scraped it off but just bits hear and there. iapplied a blob in the cetre and a few bits in the corners do a need to redow it
wipe it all off than use rubbing alcohol to get it totally clean especially the little bits left from before. put a dab of artic silver on the center of raised part of cpu & spread it across til raised section covered.
what is rubbing alcohol and there no raised part its all flat and when i rub in the paste do a cover the entire procesor
