If I recorded a video with a camcorder in PAL format can I play it on NSC equipment, TV, computer, etc.? If I can play it will it look good? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
I assume this will be a disk (that has been finalized). It will play on the PC ok. Many (most?) North American standalone DVD players will refuse a PAL disk. Check the specifications for the player. EG my Philips DVP5992 lists 'Playback' > 'Multistandard (PAL/NTSC)' and it will play both types.
Thanks Attar! I am looking at buying a camcorder that has a 60GB HDD and only records in PAL. I guess the bottom line is that I need to make sure that the player will play the PAL format. I will check my DVD player and see if it will play both. I will also be using it on the PC. Again thanks for your help!
'Region Free'? There's a hack listed at this site for that player. Use at your own risk. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks?dvdplayer=DVX492H&hits=50&Search=Search

Try unplugging the machine for a while then power up. I haven't run into this problem so I can't offer anything except Google.
