I have spent many hours researching a good software to convert pal to ntsc and vice-versa. I am asking if there is anyone with tried and tested software that does the conversion with little or no jumpy effects. Preferably not too expensive.
give vobblanker a go Ive only tried it on movies only no menus load your dvd in the top screen right click goto video attributes change your system to pal or ntsc and then process, the movie will still read in its orignal system if anylised but it does play in the selected system PS its free
I convert PAL to NTSC all the time with AnyDVD and Nero VisionExpress. Have never had any quality issues. Nero Vision has a default setting so whatever you import will burn in that format. Nero comes set to NTSC. Cannot preserve original menu though. AnyDVD is required for any copy protection or region coding on the PAL disc. Just follow the guide for burning avi to DVD in the Nero Forum, except you will import from disc instead of files. Also when you go to burn you will get a window saying"Your project contains more PAL files than NTSC files. Do you want to change the output setting to PAL?" Click on NO.
I am not really that bothered about menus. I already have ANYDVD on my computer. I will give Nero a trial and see what happens. Thank you very much for your feedback. Just a quick question. Will the result be a NTSC disc or a region free disc. Also does the conversion work the other way NTSC to PAL? Thanks again for the input.
Anything you burn will be region free. You can convert either way with Nero. Within Nero VisionExpress is a tab labled MORE. Click on it and you will see a tab labeled DEFAULT VIDEO OPTIONS. Click on it and under the GENERAL tab is the setting for VIDEO MODE. Set this to whatever format you want to burn, PAL or NTSC. Nero will burn in that format regardless of the format of the files you imported.
