i got a movie - and when i tried burning it ....it says u attempted to add pal to ntsc

i know i can change the format setting or whatever so that way i can burn it. But does this mean it wont play on dvd players?

i remember burning a rip of a movie that was probably PAL and it didnt pick up, i dont want this to happen again

    Dear bobright,
You need to check your dvd player and/or tv to see what they can play, then choose the system for burning accordingly.

Alternatively, get a disc that you sure can play on the dvd player, insert it into the pc, then use something like Nero Info Tools to check its properties. If it says NTSC, then go with NTSC, if it says PAL, then go with PAL.

yeah, well most discs i burn their ntscs - thats the default and what i burn everything as--but this files a pal thats why i was wonderin if it will play - cause i recall some not.

is there anyway i can convert the format form PAL to NTSC?

edit: got help on another forum

winavi does do it under 'advanced settings'

    im such a dumbass

Well, I wish I could attach a pretty picture with my post as you do!

Anyway, there are indeed ways to convert between pal-ntsc. It usually consists of two steps:

    1) convert the dvd into some popular video format (e.g. avi, mpeg). I use ImToo DVD Ripper, but there are other programs.

    2) then transcode and burn with e.g. DVDSanta or Nero. Both programs would let you choose whether to go with pal or ntsc before transcoding.

    Happy DVD converting!
