My wife has a bunch of Russian DVDs recorded in PAL. IS there any way to re-encode or convert them useing Shrink or NERO. Thanks for your help everybody
This is not easy to do but possible. How bad the quality will be, I don't know. The basic steps would be something like this: Rip the DVD with Shrink, set the size to DVD-9 so you don't add any compression. Set the target as a hard drive location. Open NeroVision Express. Add your video files, selecting the VOB files from the Shrink target location. At the bottom of the NVE window, Select "More", then "Video Options". Change the Video Mode to NTSC. From here just follow the steps in the program, create a menu if you want. Make sure you have the output file size set to "DVD". Once the you get finished with that, burn it to a DVD. It may take Nero a [bold]long[/bold] time to do this but I think it is possible. Try it and see if it works. I think you can buy players that are compatable with both PAL and NTSC formats...
Your best route would be to purchase a DVD player that plays both TV formats, PAL and NTSC. Here are a few: http://www.regioncodefreedvd.com/
