    hello
My mother has a panasonic dvd recorder model# dmr-es45v(VHS to DVD). She transferred home movies from vhs to dvd.
What I would like to know is would it be possible to hook up another dvd player to this unit & take the dvd she copied put it in the dvd player & make copies of that dvd??

Yes, I have did this with my own Panasonic recorder.
The output from the second dvd player would be fed (video + audio) into the recorder - just like if a VCR was feeding the recorder..
I assume the original disk is not a DVD_RAM disk;some players won't play them - they want finalized DVD-R or DVD+R etc.

Note that the quality may be better if the disk was copied on a PC using the appropriate software - the output from the player into the recorder is analog (as opposed to digital) before it gets reconverted to digital again..
