Recently bought a new Panasonic 42" EDTV plasma and the DVD-S77 player. The two are connected through HDMI. Recently, during playback, the screen will go blank for about 2 to 3 seconds, "HDMI" will flash onto the screen and the image re-appears. The sound through my receiver plays through uninterupted. This may happen only once or twice through the entire DVD. Anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening?

Try hooking it up with component cables, and see if it does the same thing. If it doesn't, it's the HDMI cable or connection input. If it still does it, it's either the disc has a bad spot, or the player has a problem with the media.

I've read where a lot of people have better results using the component cable hookups, instead of HDMI. All the bugs haven't been worked out of HDMI yet........
    Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I think your right about HDMI being still buggy. I've read since my post that alot of people are having issues as well.
