I have a PANASONIC SC-HT1500 Home Theater system

The unit started all of sudden and did not power on or respond to remote commands. The only signal I have to troubleshoot from is a steady blinking Red Light of the Power Button.

Anyone run into this issue or have a way to reset should this be locked in some kind of SLEEP mode???

    Any info greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem - red blinking power button on SC-HT1500. I am going to call Panasonic help line on Sunday. It happened approx. 2 years after I purchased this system.

    Hi Rekoj,
Here is my update. I found a local (Olympia, WA) authorized service center. It took them about 2 weeks to repair. They discovered some blown capacitors. Once it was fixed, it started working like a champ. My programming schedule and the shows I already had recorded on the HD were still there once I set up again.

So, I figure I am good for a while. I really like this system. In fact I have two of them.

The charge for the repair was around $100.

    Hi willcee,
thanks for your update & reply. I made my search on the Internet and called Panasonic before I read your reply. Panasonic help line sent me to service center, and I also found couple folks with ilo dvd recorder having the same problem. It looks that it will be capacitors in my case as well. I just hope that service center here in Las Vegas, NV, woill be quick, especially before Christmas. I like this system as well as older dvd recorder with HDD (DMR-E80.) I am using the older one for over 4 years, and I think that Panasonic DVD recorders with built-in HDD are the best what I can have. I think that first models (such as DMR-E80) were better quality (made in Japan) compare to SC-HT1500 (made in Malaysia.) My SC-HT1500 used to Self-check or became unresponsive couple of times before.
