Panasonic mini dvd firewire cable

    Hi, I have a Panasonic mini dvd camcorder pv-dv103 and it has a firewire cable for computer so i can transfer my pics to computer but I dont think my computer has a firewire port,,it has several usb ports,,is there any kind of adapter or will i have to add a firewire port to my computer?? Thanks

    You must have a spare pci port, just wack a firewire pci card in, very cheap, plug and play, easy install. Best route to go,

    I didnt realize that you could just but a firwire card?

    Dont forget, you need a firewire cable as well, if not already got one.

    Make sure that you pick the appropriate number of pins on the card and/or cable that you purchase. There is 4, 6, and 9-pin. More than likely, you will need 4 or 6-pin... NewEgg has a good selection...

    This is what I bought,,hope it works,,my mini dv camcorder has a 4 pin..PCI IEEE-1394 Firewire card, high quality 6ft 6-4pin firewire cable, and Ulead Video Studio V 5.0 Software
