Panasonic MPEG2/1 Encoder???

    I heard the latest Encoder from Panasonic is set to be released on 9/1/02. It will now encode into MPEG2 format. Anyone going to use it. I've heard some success stories using it for MPEG1 VCD's, saying it was better than TMPGEnc when it came to audio/video sync and quality. Opinions are Welcomed.....

    I used to use Panasonic 2.51 exclusively for MPEG-1 encoding two years ago, but noticed that TMPGEnc with Highest motion search precision produced better quality video than Panasonic -- obviously, 100% personal opinion. Panasonic tends to produce smoother, blurrer video than TMPGEnc, which is good for certain types of videos, but in general, I prefer TMPGEnc's video.
