Thanks for the help from the likes of docTY, ashj and others, for helping me choose what disc to go for from svp. I went for the Panasonic TY’s and so far so good. I’ve already tried a couple of my ps2 backups on these discs and they seem to run much smoother than the ones I had already. I know others were thinking of buying these Panasonic discs, mainly because the Verbatim TY’s are out of stock at svp.co.uk, but many weren’t sure what they were like (can be hard to get hold of according to others). Anyway I’ll post info about the discs below which will give others a good idea about what they’re getting if they’re not sure. Unfortunately I can’t do a PI/PO scan because my drive doesn’t support it. Disc = Panasonic Printable 8x DVD-R 4.7GB Inner Hub Code on Disc = GG000123 (I believe this means they're genuine) Here’s what the front of the box looks like. Notice it says ‘Made in Japan’ : Some technical info here, not really sure what some of it means, but I’m almost certain that these discs are genuine TY : And here’s the complete Media Code Hope it clears up a few things for those who are thinking of buying these discs. The more I use these discs the better idea I'll have as to how good they really are, but at the moment they seem very good quality to me. My first order through SVP.co.uk was great too. Very quick delivery. AxioStorm
AxioStorm- Glad your liking your new media ! I was'nt aware that Panasonic had media out I know they make recorders and such but media that's news . Anyway a new source for Taiyo Yuden media is always welcome isn't it ? Well good luck buddy and happy burning ! keep us all informed okay ! Peace _CIAO!
Thanks BigToxy, I'll definitely keep people informed on how they turn out in the long run. Yeah I agree, the more Taiyo Yudens the better
hey nice. i might even have to buy up all the stock of those being as some greedy bugger bought all their Verb TY :O
@dabig - I got them from http://svp.co.uk I'm from the UK though, not sure about anywhere else. I believe they're quite hard to find in some other countries.
yeah......neve knew panasonic made media. I'm in the U.S., so yeah then probably would be hard for me to get.
For the people in the U.S., they can go onto the Panasonic website. The sample in the pic shows "Made in Japan" on the box. http://tinyurl.com/s4gr5

LOL i guess i'm glad that i am over here in the U.S. where i won't have to fight creaky off with a stick~! all boils down to WHO orders faster online before they go outta stock~ LOL docTy~
I know, look at the size of that picture, Axio posted, like a red rag to a bull, did'nt take him long to post either (creaky), heh
lmao guys, you're safe, printables aren't really my bag, i'll wait for the Verb TY, i've still got enough discs in for now, i'll survive :O
@kivory - Yeah it was damn quick delivery, came next day in the morning. @ashj - Sorry about not keeping it quiet I'm new here and before posting I didn't know about greedy guts Creaky lol. But now I know! @creaky - Glad to hear your're not buying them all up, gives other people in Britain a chance to get some good discs lol.
Wow It says that they sell them @ Wal-Mart & Circuit City. In the U.S. I'm gonna have to pick some inkjet pritables up. I live right by Wal-Mart & Circuit City both.
