I have starview the box super USB. All menus require a pin so little fingers can't mess around with the settings apart from "Installation" which can be accessed without a pin. This means that someone can do a scan and retrieve all the channels I have deleted and didn't want. Is there any way to pin protect the installation menu? Or is there something else I can do other than hiding the remote control?? Cheers.
can you not lock the channels themselves. on the box super I've changed my pin in the parental control and then in channel edit i've locked the adult channels, probably works something the same on the box super usb. Also in parental control on my box there is a menu lock and this will not allow you use any of the menu without a pin, might be on your box also.
to find channels u need to remove first so u need pin to access to remove,i did not think if u scanned u get more channels as those channels already listed, never tried it.lol
Cactikid, he did say he deleted the channels he did'nt want, so if someone scans it will bring them back in
Ah I often feel I should have went to spec savers myself at times, or else read something 10 times before i get it, lol
Yes I can lock the channels but they are still there. For some reason the P Control locks all menus apart from the installation menu.
so there is no menu lock in parental control, what about in channel edit can you lock the channels, cause I have my adult channels locked and once you put these channels on they will not come on without entering a pin and even if i did a scan they are still locked, If you lock them in user set up, you have to do each individual channel, there still there alright but you can not view them without a pin. As I say i have a box super but I'd reckon there somewhat similar.
Not even had a look at a Starview 4 USB yet leo, but the earlier versions have a menu lock in Parental Control, is this not the case on SV4, if not it is another niggle with it then.
No not unless I'm being a total thicko (which there's every chance). The only thing you can do under parental control is change your pin.
No your not a thicko at all, In my parental control I have change pin code old pin new pin confrim pin menu lock second pin. Now what about the channel edit. go imto this, then press yellow button for edit and thengreen button for parental lock, make sure you have the channel highlighted in the list that you want to lock, check your menu may not be the same. Like malci I've never seen the menu on a SV4.
