partition

    hi everyone just wondering if some one could help me with partition my hard drive so that the os is on one part and all my software goes onto the other part and also how could i make my computer like the one that you buy with pre install os on them so that you dont have to reload windows back on the system and is this possible to do as i have partition my hard drive and put my os on one part and try putting my software on the other but it keeps on going in with the os.

    Repartitioning your HD will loose all the contents and doing it the way you want to will just be asking for trouble. HD's are fairly cheap if you have some bread to spare. Just bought a new 160gb at Best Buy for $40, after rebates. Why not pick one up when they have a sale and make a new boot drive, for safty's sake, and put your software there?
    BTW, wrong forum...look to "other PC Hardware" for this type. :)
