i need someoen ot explain to me what they do. Im trying to understand, and i think that the passcard loads my nds roms, but what purpose does the m3 serve. If i just want to load nds roms why can't i just buy the passcard, stick in an sd card with nds roms on it and play it like that. also if someone has a picture guide explaining the steps of the whole booting process that would be great. also is there a cheaper way hat 99 dollars

Note before I start, i'm using a Passkey2 instead of a Passcard3, but for this they do the same thing.

    This is what your need:
    DS/ DS Lite
    Passcard3
    M3
    Storage Card
    [IMG]

You put the ROMs on the storage card, the storage card then goes into the M3.

If you put the M3 into the DS [bold]without[/bold] a Passcard, it only lets you use the GBA features of the M3.

Now with the Passcard3 inserted when you turn on the DS with the M3 in it will automagically load the M3 in DS mode.
(remember i'm using the old Passkey2 which sticks out)

And this is what happens if you do what you say. (just use the Passcard3) Two white screens.

Hope this clears some things up for you.

I found this review of the G6 Lite very helpful.

    http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=34239

It does the same as the M3 except you dont need the SD card. It has loads of pictures too. You cant load anything onto the passcard - It just fools the DS into thinking theres a DS game in the slot. It actually loads the DS Rom from the M3 or G6 etc that you have in the GBA slot. Someone correct me if Im wrong or not quite technically correct!

i cuold care less also if something sticks out of the gba slot, because a regular gba game does alread and for the price to play roms and my "backups" sticking out is worth it.

I myself got the m3 sd version, and the passcard 3. If you have a ds lite, the m3 sd version will stick out between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch. To me it wasnt a big deal, and I had a lot of sd cards laying around, so it was good. Of course, whichever combo you get, you will still have to get a card that matches with it... (sd m3, needs an sd card, m3 lite, needs a micro sd card, etc) As to which you get, that depends on your preferences. Like I said, I myself went for the sd m3, and passcard 3. That order was 118-119$ shipped, and as I said before, was very quick to ship, tehy do fedex priority envelope.

    1. no no no no no no no NO... you need a flash card to go with it... CD CF, micro sd, etc... depending on what m3 you get... guys if you keep saying the answer to number 1 is yes, hes gonna buy the thing, put it in his ds, and find out theres no games for him to play because theres nothing to store them on.
