I know hwo probably have already tried this, but if you haven't why not go into safe mode, Im pretty sure you can access admin.

Unlikley safe mode will help if it were possible to boot into safe with a password protected OS it would be waste of time having a password in the first place.

Since there's no way of knowing if said laptop is stolen ,the only advice i'll give is F10,F8 or whatever the key is you need to press to start a destructive reformat
Edit: or take it to a sony approved repairer to have it unlocked

There's more than one option in the reformat,so after using f8 or f10 or whatever the key is you need, once it appears click on repair,it'll keep your music, pictures etc intact,it will only rewrite the OS,once finished you'll need to reinstall any third party software in the all programs list, yes the folders are still there but they have been wiped

If your password is in the BIOS, from what I read that can be reset, If it's an older model it's easy, but the later models are more complicated.

If the problem is a windows logon administrator password, that's easy to fix with the free "reset" boot cd, I've used a couple of times and it works good.
