I am looking for a program that will password protect Cd and DVD. I am puting together a training cd and DVD that will require the person to enter a password to access the files or watch the DVD. Is there such a thing? I would like the password to have an expire date with a master password to always access the cd. Can any one help?
I've never done it, but I have a Plextor drive and it comes with Plex Tools and that will allow you to do it.
The process is fairly simple but you have first to encrypt the data so no one can bypass your protection. Have a look at this program available at:- http://www.gold-software.com/download3059.html ""SecurMedia is ideal for sharing all types and forms of sensitive information on PC removable storage media including audio, video, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The SecurMedia/SecurWebCD plug-in is compatible with all Microsoft® Windows® operating systems, including Windows 98 SE, ME®, 2000®, XP® (Professional and Home versions), and Windows NT® 4.0 and higher"" ²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²² Another option would be to simply use WINZIP to create a self-extracting executable of the entire contents of the disc that is password protected. You could have this self-extracting file set to autorun when the disc is inserted. Only problem with this solution is that the contents must first be completely extracted to the user's hard drive before whatever is on the disc can be read/executed/etc. Good Luck
