Ok, i know this game is old to most people. But i just got
    my first Xbox
I got a patch and instructions for how to apply it but i
must be missing something because it is not working at all.

Here is what i was told to do
    make a copy of default.xbe
Put it in a folder and then copy the IPS.exe and NTSC.ips files
    into the same folder
then run the IPS.exe file and it will patch the default.xbe file
Then FTP those files over into the Halo game folder on the
    xbos HDD

ok, i follwed these step, even told the program to replace the
existing files when it told me they were duplicates. But when i
load up the game nothing is different. The NFO file says to turn
on/off the trainer to press left+right tumbles, which i assume
means the joysticks, which i tried, but get nothing.

So is there something that i am missing?
do i have to patch the file then transfer over the whole game?
Do i need to patch the original default.xbe file or should the
copy and paste method i use also work?
Anyone know of an easier way to patch the original Halo game?

what i wrote was the tutorial. It was just from a post
where someone was telling me how it was done. They say they have no
idea why it didn't work that what i did was correct. But i have to be
missing some small step or something.
