i cant play 20th century fox dvd's, i.e. futurama, family guy, on my pc. it says cannot play the disc because i have a tv out enabled on my video card. even if i disable my tv out, it still wont play em(same error message). no other dvd's do this. i am using power dvd xp. has anyone figured out a way around this annoyance? thanks nato
Try usig WinDVD and see if you get the same problem. Its probably a copyright code built into Power DVD.
I had a very similar problem with all three Sopranos DVD box sets. While I had no problem with them in my set-top box player, my DVD-Rom drive in my computer had playback problems ranging from an all out refusal to play to scrambled video (kinda like looking at a PPV channel without it being decoded). I finally resolved the issue the only way that worked, I used Region-Free and used it's ability to turn off Macrovision. Once Macrovision was turned off, it plkauyed just fine. I think a lot of DVD's that were burned from TV show masters have this problem.
