hiya, bout 4/5 days ago i suffered a power calibration when burnig with nero rom, the following day my dvd burner wouldnt accept dvd+r even though its never had probs b4. so i tried my second burner, this one was ok 4 dvd+r but not with dvd-r, but when i tried nero express they where both fine. since then ive had nothing but troubles with my p.c, random crashes, freezes , etc. ive done every test i can think of and they all say pc is ok, i checked the error logs and found the following errors in there, now heres the problem, i checked every thing out and still all tests say alls well, im pretty experianced with pc probs but have 2 conceed defeat on this 1. so please can anyone help me out this time. the errors are as follows= 1- The Application Management service terminated with the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.

2- NETLOGON = This computer is configured as a member of a workgroup, not as a member of a domain. The Netlogon service does not need to run in this configuration.

3- UPS = The UPS service is not configured correctly.

4- Service Control Manager = The Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework service terminated with the following error: A device attached to the system is not functioning.

5- Service Control Manager = The HID Input Service service terminated with the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.

6- Service Control Manager = The Uninterruptible Power Supply service terminated with the following error: %%2481

7- Service Control Manager = The InstallDriver Table Manager service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).

8- IdeChnDr = The device, \Device\Ide\IdeDeviceP1T0L0, did not respond within the timeout period.

Do you use a UPS? I don't reclal anybody without one getting any UPS-related errors. If you do, have you tried plugging your PC into the mains only?
When you say power calibration, does this mean you had a brief loss of power that caused your PC to shut down?

the power calibration error only happens if im trying to burn media onto a dvd-r blank disc using nero burning rom on my exterior burner (dual double layer 16x) it always happens at 4%, i dont lose power nero spits the disc out then program closes. at first i thought it must be dodgy discs, but same burner and same discs burn fine using nero express/vision,recode etc. the strange thing is my other burner now has probs burning dvd+r discs using nero rom, the burn always crashes at 38% again nero says error but its a session fixation error,no loss of power nero expels the disc then closes.

I'm not sure about the other errors then, but perhaps you have a CD-ROM driver issue. Have you installed any games on your system? If so, do any use the starforce protection system? If they do, it's time for a reformat.

Yep, that's probably the problem. My DVD drive writes but can't read due to that!
