I have this PC (bought in 2003), which when I'm using DVDshrink (copying DVD to HDD), some kind of alarm starts.

It's like something is overheating and once the temperature reaches its max the PC turns itself off and restarts.

What could it be? HDD? I have two Western Digital HDDs inside.
It seems to me that HDD is overheating, but I really don't know.

It's driving me crazy. More recently the same alarm starts after 30-45 min the PC is on.

    Your thoughts please...

Are you sure its the HDD? It might be the CPU; find a program called Hwmonitor ( google it ) and record your temps when that noise is made. If you have alot, get atleast the CPU.

It could be CPU I really don't know. I've downloaded hwmonitor and so far the values are within max limits.
