    Hello,

Recently I installed a new Ethernet card for the internet connection, and this was the first time I had attempted to install something internally. Now at random times the PC keeps freezing up, sometimes it can be when an web page is loading or something simple like opening a folder. I know the PC is old with a Pentium 3 CPU but I'm waiting for Vista then I can get a new one, Hurrah! Someone suggested checking the CPU fan but this seems to fine as I've checked it and I never touched it in the first place. I've also defraged the hard drive. I'm no expert but I was just wondering if the PCI cards are too close does it crash it for getting to hot.

    Thank You for your help.

When you checked the fan, was the thing dusty? If it hasnt been done, you should get a can of compressed air and dust it out. It may be an oerheating issue. After its dusted out, move the card to another PCI slot. Also check the website for updated drivers...you could even use Windows Update.
