do you have any slower ram in the computer, or only PC3200? Also, does your mobo support 3200 speed? If not it will only run the ram at the highest speed the mobo supports.

    i thought about that,

i just put in a new dim, which is the same speed/brand as the older stuff, so it shouldnt be any issues

    mobo does support 3200

so you already had a stick of PC3200 in your computer, which ran at the proper speed, but you just added a new stick along with the old stick, and now it only runs at PC1600? Check the manual again for the placement of ram, some mobos are really picky about various sizes of ram and where they are in the slots...some have to be in a certain order for them to work. what happens when you take out your old ram and just use your new one? does that run at PC3200?
