PC RANDOMLY SHUTS DOWN

    I have a Abit il9 pro motherboard
    2.00gb ram
    Intel Pentium D CPU 3.20ghz
    1x 250gb hard drive
    1x 150gb hard drive

    Hello all i wondered if somebody would be able to help me my PC ramdomly shuts down now i never have this problem when i have windows xp installed as soon as i installed vista it started doing this, then i tried windows 7 and it is still doing the same thing, I put winodws xp back on and i never had any problems so from what i can see it 's something to do with the operating system please could someone help me cause i do not want to use xp i wanna use windows 7 because its more secure

    did you load the motherboard chipset drivers? have you checked to see if there is a bios update?

    yes i have downloaded the latest chipset drivers but not the bios how would i go about it still doesnt make any sense though cause it dont shut down in xp only windows 7 and vista

    read your motherboard manual as it should have info on updating your bios.
