Hello, im new to the forums and its my first post, im 14 years old and im not the brightest bulb when it comes to pc's and tv's. I like to play alot of games on my xbox 360, but i still want to play on my computer. Im about to buy a dell xps 720 black. It comes with windows vista, if that helps. I want to get 1080p resolution from the games that i play out of my dell, im not planning on buying a monitor and i wanted to hook it up to my HDTV. The specifications of the dell im about to buy are:

-Intel quad core processor (8MB cache, 2.4 GHz, 1066 FSB) - Processor
    -4GB dual channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800Mhz - RAM
    -500GB-Seagate 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s 16MB cache- Hard Drive
-768MB Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX - Graphics Card
-AGEIA PhysX physics accelerator - physics accelerator??
-ATI theater 650 Pro Combo Tv Tuner with gyroscopic remote - Tv Tuner
-Windows Vista Home - Operating System

The price comes to 2600 dollars, please dont tell me thats too much, i dont really care, im hoping this will output 1080p resolution, and if i need something else to get that please tell me. My HDTV has hdmi inputs and hd component cable inputs. I was also wondering what cables i have to use to plug my xps to my HDTV to get the 1080p resolution that i want, help is much appreciated, thank you.
(if you need more specs, please ask)

as the 8800GTX uses DVI the option to use would be a dvi to hdmi cable or a dvi-hdmi converter then use an hdmi cable (the dvi-hdmi converter should come shipped with the 8800GTX, dont hold me to that tho)

    hope this helps

hey, no problems. Yup ull be able to use your TV as a monitor, the DVI will be on the back of the on the graphics card and yeh you connect dvi to PC then HDMI to monitor.

The white connectors in this picture are DVI
