It's been a while since I was here, back in the ealry days of ripping DVDs if I recall Now I have a Blu Ray playback problem I hope someone can help with Specs first PC dual core 3.4Ghz with 2Gb Ram Vista Ultimate 32bit Blu Ray drive Internal Sata Hard drive dedicated to media (ie no system files on it) Geforce 9500 GT with HDMI out Into a Sony DA-2400ES AV amp then into a Panasonic Plasma screen. If I play a Blu ray disc directly from the drive (Power DVD8) it plays smoothly and the sound is the correct digital surround through 5:1 speaker combo, however the sound eventually becomes out of sync with the video (after about 30 minutes)and gets steadily worse. If I rip the disc and play the TS file through Power DVD the playback is jerky (it feels a little bit like being drunk) The CPU is not strained at all (50% max) If I play it through Zoomplayer or Windows Media player the video is perfect but the sound is only stereo despite setting everything I could find to direct digital (SPDIF) It's being downmixed as I only ripped the 5:1 tracks (Ac3 and True HD) I don't know if the sound goes out of sync when playing the ripped file as I haven't sat through 30 minutes of it. Anyone have any thoughts about a fix/fixes for either of these problems?
Well I solved the Power DVD problem by turning off hardware acceleration in the PDVD options. Be interested if anyone has an ideas about the stereo only output in other media players
