PC Wont Power Up

    Hey everyone, im new at all this fitting in stuff, i bough a new mainboard/cpu/memory i fitted them in my old case with my old hardrive and optical drive, then when i started the pc up it didnt start it just made a whistling noise, any idea why it wont power up?

    did you hook 2 connectors from the psu to the motherboard or just 1 connector? disconnect all cables to drives to see if will powerup.

    only 1 connector was connected and i tried getting rid of the cables connected to the hardrives and it still made the same sound, theres 2 pins spare on the power cable is that a problem?

    what is the make & model# of the motherboard so can see what you have?

    Make sure the RAM is in all the way.
