Im new to these forums but hope that this is in the right place, if not i apologize in advance. My problem is that i want to purchase a graphics card for my computer and was told that PCI E x16 is the best slot for this, i also remember being told that when i purchased my computer that it had one PCI E x16 slot. So i opened up my computer and couldnt seem to find one anywhere, after a bit of researching i did an everest scan and it came up that i definitely have two PCI slots, one PCI E x1 and one PCI E x16 slot, so i opened up my computer again and after a while of searching have found where the connector should be although there is no slot attached simply some writing that confirms this is where the PCI E x16 connector should be and what appears to be holes where the connector should be attached to the motherboard. I will get pictures tomorrow as i understand this can be pretty hard to understand. So i was wondering if anyone could help me on how i would go about putting a connector in so i could then get a graphics card. Image of mobo - 'B' is where my PCI E x16 slot should be although on the actual mobo there is simply an outline of where it should be and no actual connector, help please :s .
what is the make & model# of that computer as that picture makes me think it is a dell? you'll have to replace the board because besides missing the slot connector, you are possibly missing other surface mounted components like ic's, resistors & capacitors.
