I recently tried playing Parasite Eve and I can't get the game to work. Heres what happens... After I boot up the Emulator, I point to the S:\ drive to load the .bin image of disk 1. (I put both disks on a dvd in .bin format) After I hit "a" to select the 1st image the screen just blinks and stays on the image select screen. Do I need to put the bin file on the HDD???? And no there is no .cue file with the bin images. And yes I have everything installed correctly. Funny, FF7 worked about a month ago, now I can't get that to load either! Help me, my son is bugging the crap out of me to get it working!
Hi.. wrong format for the image.. You need to make a .img file. The easy way is to use alcohol120% to make the image.. Select CCD and read subchannel data. compatability mode playstation. and let it go. When it's done you can discard the small .ccd file and ftp or burn the file to a disk (data disk with nero) That should do it. There is a chance that the game just won't work, some just don't.. It's not on my list. Post back if it works and I'll add it to my working list. Thanks.
Thanx for the help! I'm using MagicISO for the solution you offered. If i'm not mistaken, I can simply change the .iso file to an .img file by re-naming right? If so, I'll get back here as soon as I can test it and let you know if it worked. Thax again!
err.. Not sure that just changing the name will work. I tried various ways of making the .img file and the way I describe was the only one that worked for me. Clone CD should do the same.. ccd and img files, but they may not rip the subchannel data which is very often where the music lives. I found a proper guide to doing this ages ago but I can't for the life of me remember where it was. Just ftp the image onto the box..saves wasting any disks until you get it working...Try plenty of different games too, not all will work. (legacy of kain..soul reaver took ages to get it to load?..or did I only get that one working on my PC??) You have the bios?
