My psx isnt working propaly, but I still have the cds. So I look for a psx emulator and get pcsxbox. I didnt know what to do so I look at some tuts and turn the ISOs in .bin and .cue. I put disc one bin and cue in the psxcds folder and then but SCPH1001 into the bios folder. Then I put the whole pcsxbox foler into my emulator folder on my xbox. I loaded the emulator up and then choose the game. I get FinalFantasyVIIDisc1 as the bin 1 and FinalFantasyVIIDisc1 as the cue one. When i choose the cue one it tells me to load the bin one. When I choose the bin one it doesnt work. Cos i wanna play my final fantasy game again it would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me a link to a tut or help me in a different way. Also can someone tell me if I have to do the 3 discs seperatly or together. Anyway help is greatly appreciated.
The problem is the bin-cue format.. You need to make .img files with clone cd or alcohol 120%.. You can put as many of those on a disk as you can fit, or ftp them onto the xbox drive.
Also Ill tell you what I have so far. Disk 1-CUE file, IMG file, CCD File and SUB File Disk 2-CUE file, IMG file, CCD File and SUB File Disk 3-CUE file, IMG file, CCD File and SUB File I know I can get a BIN file if I convert the ISO and that also gives me another CUE file. so what do I need to do with the BIN and the CUE file?
You can't do anything with the bin and cue files...throw them away along with the sub file. then FTP the .img file into the emulator..there is a folder with a file that says "put ps disks here" or you can burn them as data files onto a cd or dvd. Plus you need the bios for the emulator..as you have a ps1 (even broken) you are legally entitled to use it.. lol
The emulator will only run .img files. Put them in the ps-disks folder.(Or burn a collection on a dvd as a data compilation, they can take up a lot of drive space) We used to use either cdrwin or alcohol120% to rip the .img files. A120 has a setting for clone cd and playstation compatability (and you can rename the file while you rip it) A hint..Try a tomb raider or a platformer for a first attempt. Alundra runs OK as well but the FF series are bad news to get running as are most of the sim city type games. On a final point.. I'd write a full tutorial on this but as I don't run windows or use any apps that everybody else uses there isn't much point. Good luck with it. It's really quite impressive, Tomb Raider Chronicles looks better than on the PS1 when you get the filtering set up nice.
Yo Jan if you wnat we could do a colaboration ( or however you spell the sucker) you knowledge of what to do, and my knowlegde of windows (or windoze as you call it) and we could be pimps.
