I am planning to purchase my first DVD Burner and from research the TDK INDI DVD 804G & the Plextor PX-708A are considered the best. I saw on a forum (maybe this one) that the TDK burner failed when using 321 studio's DVDXcopy software. I would like to know if anyone else has had this experience? It seems the mfg's of these drives like you to use the 'bundled' software. I'd appreciate your comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Can I make a suggestion of Pioneer a07. It is an great drive I have 2 of them. Also I own 2 TDK 440N they are good and burn everything.
My 708A works wonderfully and I'm very pleased with it, but the Pioneer 107 is definitely worth considering over the TDK drive.
That is basically what I was saying. I think that the Pioneer A07/107 is a better choice than the TDK. I have owned the 440n and still have 3 of them. But when choosing to upgrade to 8x, I ruled out the TDK and went to the Pioneer, that had better firmware available. Also the tdk has 2 versions. 840g and 880n. The 880 is the NEC 2500 and the 840 is the plextor 708.
thanks for your response. Have you used your burner with DVDXcopy or other software with any problems? thanks again.
don't use dvdxcopy. Use dvd shrink and a burning program such as nero or recordnow. Oh yeah, if you don't already have dvdxcopy, you don't want to buy it because you will still need another program to get rid of the copy protection. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]V4 PS2, flip top, SMD, CDLoader Pioneer 105, Memorex 4X DVD-R DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero[/small]
