I couldn't get a hit when I searched "echo" so I decided to start my own thread.... I'm just picking up on WinXP Media Center. In screwing around with it I've induced an echo in the recording or WinMediaPlyr playback of the recordings off TV. Even other *.wmv files now play with an echo. I haven't been able stumble across what I did before. Can you give me an idea of what needs tweaking?
This is a common one, but glad to help. This is from your level of "WAVE" being too high in your audio properties. to get to where you can adjust it, left click on start, programs, accessories, entertainment, then volume control, in that order. Once your volume control menu appears, simply minimize or lower the level of the "WAVE" bar until you notice the echo has stopped. If in the event you don't see the "WAVE" bar when you open this file, click on OPTIONS in the upper left hand corner of the slide bar window, select PROPERTIES, and from it go to the section that says SHOW THE FOLLOWING VOLUME CONTROLS, left click to select WAVE, and once you see it, minimize the slide bar. Hope this helps. The East Coaster Poster
