I tried to hook my Philips external cd-rw to my HP processor. It doesn't seem to recognize it. I read that someone else had a problem like this and it was a bad usb cable but I had another cable and tried exchanging it and it still didn't work. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. My HP does not recognize my Phillips cd-rw drive. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

I called Philips and they told me I had to download some drivers. They gave me a site to go on to download some things and then told me I could call back and they would guide me through the rest. I did that and haven't had anymore problems.

Could you post the link they gave you here so that other can find it too?

I didn't have a zip drive so I had to do to winzip.com and download the free evaluation version. Once I did that,I went to freecom.com and clicked on drivers and patches. If you still have problems, call Philips at 1-888-541-5837. They were great. Good luck.

I have to point that the ZIP compression format and ZIP drive have nothing to do with each other.
