this drive is a rebadged benq 1640. but for some reason it wont let me update the firmware from benq. it says "The drive is not allowed to be updated".if anyone has info on this please let me know. i would really like to be able to update the firmware so it will be current and it will be seen as a benq.
Well, did you check the Philips site for a firmware update? That is where you should be able to find one that will work with it.
