My remote got damaged by my nephew and no longer works so i need a replacment that lets me get into setup. I have a allforone unviversal remote that does everything but let me into setup which is needed to fix a couple of flaws. So does anyone know of a remote that worked perfect with my philips dvd player?

    Hi SkyHigh1,

Do you have a "prog/guide" button on your OneForAll remote? This allows me to get into the setup of my Toshiba DvdPlayer, so hopefully it will allow you to do the same. To exit, just press the button again.

    SkyHigh1,

You can spend a small fortune on universal remote controls if you want to go exotic. Harmony is one brand that is the envy of most, but it comes with a price.

Here's a website for remote controls, there is a "Clicker Picker" halfway down the home page:

I, personally, like the OneForAlls as they are inexpensive and suit MY needs. I would pick one with learning functions and something that is upgradeable. One for All Premium Learning Line URC8820/ can be had for under $20. 8910 with LCD under $30. The Kameleon 6 device looks nice too.

Look around you might find them cheaper.
