My Philips used to play XviD files with no problems whatsoever and now when I try to play one on it, the sound is choppy. The video seems to be running smoothly... Not sure why the video would work and not the sound. I've tried multiple files, discs, and burning programs and all give the same problem. They playback fine on the computer, so I'm sure it's not a burn issue. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

    Thanks

I've noticed that it can have problems with sound like that as well. The issue is more than likely the mp3 audio. Whether it's VBR, or was created with a sketchy codec, or is too low of bitrate, or too high of bitrate, I'm really not sure..but I've had that problem myself.

It seems to me that you must have updated some software on the PC. The DVP certainly did not change... right?
