It started with 8x till 15% and then drop to 500k/s till finish.
It took 10 minutes to burn a 220M file.
I've already update chipset drive, firmware.
Not matter what speed i use, it always drops to 500k/s after 15%.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

Are you meaning to do a multisession disc? This is the second post I have seen where someone is doing multisession with a DVD +R and turning it into a DVD-ROM. I guess I need to try that to see what happens.
Maybe it is being limited in some way, like perhaps the amount of memory you have, or available hard drive space.

    Thank you for your response.
I've tried to burn a DVD-R too, same problem. estimated 3.5 hours to burn 4.2G.
I have 512 mb memory. When nero is on, which takes 240 mb memory, there is 50 md left.
The hard drive is 60 G.
Any suggestion? or any other log you want to see?
    many thanks again.

The amount of memory Nero uses may depend on how much you have. I have 1 G and it uses about 380 megs to burn.

Also, how much of your 60 gig hard drive is available for temporary storage?

I would think you have an Intel processor, what type and how fast?

If you want to divide out how much time is transcoding and how much burning, you can burn an image to the hard drive and then use NeroBurning ROM to burn the image to DVD.

Is there any chance some type of power saving configuration is slowing the burn down?

I had a similar problem when I first started burning with a new external burner. that is - slow burn process.

I have since found out that the early USB ports are SLOW.

I only found out when I ran out of ports and bought a USB2 card. It fixed the problem immediately as USB2 runs very much faster than USB1.

Try to find out what you are using and if 1 - upgrade.

Thank you for your help first.
I can't burn image with Nero. Don't know why. anyway, i used NTI.
For a 360 mb file, It took 1 minute to burn image to hard drive and 16 minute to DVD.
    Something wrong with the burner?
here is the log. Thank you very much
