Phillips DVD Drive VAD6011

    hey i was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on this

    this thing is giving me a dirty disk so i tried to adjust the laser output described i one of the tut's i don't want to tuen t to much so i did it 3 time at about a 1/8 of a turn each time only diff i get is it takes a few sec's longer for the error to appear like 5 secs more is there anything else i can do i don't wanna kill the eye if its still good

    thanks man...any ideas on were i can get one to replace it @ a canadian store i only paid 20 bucks for this xbox and i wanna get it fixed for as cheap as possible

    anothere question i just did the volt meter test on pod and it gave me a reading at over 1700 so i tweeked it to around 510...does this mean the laser is good if i am able to do this or can it still be uless...i tested the @ 400-650 range with still the dirty disk error is there anything else i can do to futher test the drive b4 buying a new one?

    The Phillips may come good at any level, however it won't stay there, trust me on this!

    They were just badly manufactured, that's why they were all replaced with the Samsung!

    Try and get hold of another broken console on eBay or something,on ethat you can salvage the drive from!

    thanks for the info....called the local computer places to look at a replacement just wondering what models will work from a computer store any model#'s would be great

    also chuckhead do you have one i can buy

    Has to be a an Xbox drive, not a PC one!
