took the pictures from my digital camera disc saved them to my hard drive in a folder I created they are .jpg (jpeg). I created a slide show, burned the slide show to cd-r but cannot view them in windows media player or on a dvd. However I can save the pictures to a disc using make a data cd that is viewable on a dvd or by media player.

    Hi there,

Please tell us what software you used ?
Did you burn DVD Files (VIDEO_TS) on a CD-R ?

Did you generate a VCD ? SVCD ?

Burning them as a Data CD works, well that's normal.
Most DVD player these days will support pictures .JPG / .BMP to be displayed.

I have a feeling you generated DVD Output files (.VOB) and you burned them to a CD-R, is this the case ?

Sorry about that i used the program in nero 7 ultra to make a vcd and I used a blank cd. I selected the cd tab at the top of nero start smart the selected the make a vcd so I could do a slide show. There must be something about nero converting the jpegs to .dat I didnt quite understand the help files on neros homepage. The only way I could see the slide show was in nero showtime
